Hi,

I keep getting the follwing alert on my backup job:

Backup- \\myserver.mydomain.local\System?StateVSS Snapshot warning.
File c:\program files\symantec\backup exec\raws\vss provider\bevssprovider.exe is not present on the snapshot.

Although I have omitted this directoty from the backup task it keeps coming in.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Gavin.

Hi,

try deselecting the entire folder that this file is in. Alternatively, recreate this as a dummy file which should allow backups to go through again.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have omitted the entire folder.

The file DOES exist, it just continually skips it.

Gavin.

Gavin,,

Have you tried completely recreating the job. If not please do so and report the result.

Backup the registry

Delete the following two keys:

-HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\bevssprovider

-HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSS\Providers\{5fdb6ef5-6ead-4610-995b-401c88626115}

Restart the server and try a backup

Also, check your windows events on the server for any other errors that are occuring during this job and make sure the server has been rebooted recently.
