gkiriakakis

We are using be 12.5 sp4 on windows 2003 sp2 We recently updated our ibm ts3584 library's firmware level to 7420. After restarting our server, we cannot manage drive and slots (we cannot import/export/inventory/initialize the library). Any job we submit goes in queue.

Hello

When the jobs go in the queued status do you see any green icon(play icon)  on your device.

Check if there is any error message in the Windows System log.

To update the device drivers use tapeinst.exe its located at X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec

Hi there,

I'd look at downloading the latest DDI. You can get this on the link below:

x64 - http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/350216.htm

x32 - http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/350214.htm

Might be some sort of compatibility issue between the new firmware version and your version of the device driver you are running. No mention of that on the BE 12.5 HCL though...

Laters!

Download and install the latest Symantec Drivers .
Even if it has the latest driver update it again , once the drivers are installed make sure you reboot the server and Library in correct order.
Power off both server and library
Power On Library wait for it to intialize
Power on the server

make sure the Library come up as online and also examine the Event log for the errors

I would suggest disabling the library and drives in BE (right click and un-check the enable line), then delete the drives and library from BE, then stop BE services, then restart BE services and let it re-discover your library and drives.

If that doesn't fix it, please check the adamm.log (or post a copy here) for any weirdness or error messages.

Was anything else changed besides the library firmware?  What was the old firmware version?

Hi,

Has any of this helped?

THanks!
