Backup exec 2010 destination drive (external HD) ran out of disk space.

My backup destination drive (an external hard drive) has only 1 GB of space left on it and backup exec will no longer backup to it. Can you please provide me some instructions on how to cleanup (delete) old un-needed files on the drive without breaking the backup chain?

Thank You In advance for your help!

Backup Exec 2010 re uses the BKF media files in the B2D location unless your run an ERASE job on the media thru Backup Exec.

There is not a easy way to detemine the media chain in BE 2010.

I think your best bet is to go to the Reports Tab - Standard Reports - Media  and run the "Backup Sets by Media Set" .  This will list the media label, if the Backup was Full, Diff, etc, and Backup Set description.

This can be printed out or put into CSV/Excel, etc if needed.

Look thru what you think you can A) Erase thru Storage Tab in BE B) Move the media to Scratch Media so it can be re-used overwritten.

OK so there is a lot here and some of it looks like exchange mailboxes or databases. Not sure what to delete here. Any ideas? See Attached files.

Also where is the storage tab in backup Exec? I dont see it? Thanks for all your help!
