Hi,
I'm facing the problem recently, job gets queued up indefinitely. I use Win server 2008 Std with Symantec Exec 2010.

What is the destination device, is it a B2D folder or a Tape Drive?
Do you see any alerts in the BE console?
Have you installed all the latest updates for BE?

...right-click your job and choose the option to Respond to Alert.
...and since you're running BE 2010 but don't mention the version, is it BE 2010 R3? If not, it might be worthwhile to upgrade to this and load the latest service pack and patches and then push-install to your remote servers.
Also make sure that any target device is actually online within BE itself. You might want to refer to the TN below to troubleshoot possible issues with hardware, but also make sure you have scratch media available for your backup job.
