Backup exec 2012 SP1 media server bad performance to take system state backup in win 2003 server

SAN Media server –Backup exe 2012 SP1 in windows 2008 server sp1

Taking backup from windows 2003 sp2 server the initial starting 500 mb the last stage 17mb per mint

Taking 2.5 hrs.  to take  2.5 GB system state backup .

Pls let me know the solution.

Hi,

 

When you updated BE 2012 with SP1 did you push-install your updates to this Win2K3 server? If not, do so and try the backup again.

You should also make sure that the NIC on the Win2K3 server is set to the fastest speed available (ie/ 1GB FULL) along with the switch port it connects too.

Make sure that any AV running on that server isn't scanning beremote.exe and if it is, put in an exclusion to ignore it from active scans.
