...check the job log and it will tell you if it verified or not.
If you don't run a Verify job, then there is no way of knowing whether or not the data on tape is restorable. The only way around this is to run a test restore and record the results.

The matter that we want to learn is different. We already do run a verify job when we save. We mean to say that when should we check tapes after recording. Well, you need to check the tape manufacturer's site to see how long they will last. It depends on the environment they're stored in. Errors on the tape, usage etc...
