Backup exec branching from symantec?

I was listening to a tech news show the other day and they referenced BackupExec branching from symantec possibly under the old Veritas name. Just wanted to know if this was true or just a pile of FUD.

Just to clarify it is not

Just to clarify it is not specifically Backup Exec that is "branching" out of Symantec, most (if not all) of the reamining, original Veritas backup and storage products along with some that came from the original Symantec will be forming the new Veritas company (that is announced in the information CraigV posted.)
