hi all
Im having issues with BE12. last few weeks its been failing most of the backups.having looked at the errors it says the backup exec job engine system service is not responding. ive tried repqairing the software which has done nothing. trying restarting the services within BE12 and it hangs.
Any thoughts?

First, try to isolate which backup is causing this failure. Secondly, have a look @ the event viewer and check if there are any more detailed error messages or not.
Do ensure BE is updated with SP4 atleast. And lastly, if using any antivirus software, add exclusions for the BE processes.

how would i isolate which job is causing the issue? they are all failing pretty much

Backup Exec Alert: Job Failed
(Server: "CALIFORNIA") (Job: "BASKING.school.local -Incremental") BASKING.school.local -Incremental -- The job failed with the following error: The Backup Exec job engine system service is not responding.

Check which job is starting first and check when the job engine service not responding alert is being logged in the event viewer.
Do ensure the option to automatically display new alerts is enabled, as if an alert which requires a response and is not responded to in a set period of time, the job engine service can go in a non-responding state.
