Bonjour,
j'utilise Backup exec 2010 avec agent exchange
je sauvegarde un serveur exchange 2010
Je souhaite faire des tests de restauration :
lorsque je sélectionne 1 seul mail à restaurer dans un boite utilisateur,
la restauration se lance et le nombre d'octets à restaurer augmente (plusieurs centaines de Mo)
alors que je ne restaure qu'un seul petit mail (quelques ko)
n'ayant pas compris ce qu'il se passe et ne voulant rien écraser par erreur, j'ai annulé la sauvegarde en cours
pouvez-vous m'expliquer le fonctionnement et pourquoi il lance une restauration aussi important pour un seul mail ?

...you wouldn't, but the process of restoring a GRT backup of Exchange from tape would.
You can duplicate your job to disk which takes care of this, but it is simply a manual way of doing it. However, doing it this way means you don't have to run through the process again as the Exchange information will already be on disk. Follow my article below on how to do this:

To perform a GRT restore of an email you need to stage entire backup set, hence it takes long time
and shows large byte count.

Hi Pierre,
It stages to disk if you have GRT backups to tape...if you do GRT backups to disk that gets around the temporary staging.
By default that staging location is C:\Temp, and it needs to have the same amount of free space as your Information Store is big. If not, you need to move this location from: Tools --> Options --> Microsoft Exchange

so to restore 1 email i must restore the entire edb ?
does it exist a simpliest way to do this ?
