Backup exec upgrade

hi,
I'm using backup exec 8.6. Recently I've been sent the v12.5 by my head office. They ask me to upgrade 8.6 to 12.5. There are number of backup jobs have been schuduled already in 8.6. When I upgrade to the the 12.5, will those jobs be transfered to 12.5 automatically or will I have to schedule them manually again ?

hi Paul,
what Lyon say is correct. But only thing is, you cannot upgrade v8.6 to 12.5. Versions of backup exec which can be upgraded directly to version 12.5 are, BE 10d, BE 11, BE 12. however there is a way around this. By installing version 10d ( http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/279332.htm), then this can be used as a stepping-stone to upgrade to 12.5.

hi paul,
You do not need to setup jobs manually again. All the jobs, cataogs and other data will be retained in the new version after the succefull upgrading.
