Backup failed

We have two clients, both using BackupExec V 8.6. They have a similar problem - they run two backup jobs daily and one always fails. The log lists all completed actions, which have no errors, and it finally says 'status: Failed'.

Can anybody suggest a reason for this?

Thanks

Can you post a job log from a failed job?

That's the reason for the FAILED

There used to be a TechNote with a list of Key Words that would result in a FAILED status, but I can't find it anymore

OK, thanks I will investigate the missing directory.

The backup failed due to the missing "Lucy" mailbox. Edit the backup job to unselect this mailbox. I believe this will fix the problem.

I opened the backup job and tried to expand the mailbox list. A dialogue headed 'Attach to device\\DCSERVER\MicrosoftExcahange Mailboxes ' opened and asked for a 'Unique Exchange Mailbox name that belongs to the Backup Exec Services Account'. I found an account called BackupExec and tried it, but the dialogue box remains on screen. I therefore cannot unselect the lucy mailbox. Is there another way to achieve this?

Thanks

You can try logging onto the media server as the BackupExec service Account. Then open the GUI and try unselecting the failing mailbox(es)

Tried that without success - also tried a new backup job which doesn't backup mailboxes. Now it reports 'device paused'.
