I am fairly new to backup exec and need to know if the tool can backup files from mutilple shares to another local file location. My customer does not have a tape drive unit and does not want to buy one. So I need to know if backup exec can backup to a file. And then Take that file and move it to an offsite storage unit for disaster recovery.
Hi, i would suggest to skip the file idea, because you don't need this step in-between, BE can use USD-Disks and/or devices like RDX (see the Hardware Compatibility List HCL) directly as targets. Also local volumes or shares. Regards Gerhard
