Backup job failed (e000e020) BE 2010 R3

Hi,

We have problem with two backup jobs, after BackupExec upgrade. 

I've configured job to weekly backups users' shares:

  • Selection list priority:

    Priority and Availability

    Limit availability of this selection list for backup to the following daily time window: Yes

    Job priority: Medium
    First available date: 2/7/2011
    Begin time: 12:30:00 AM
    End time: 5:59:00 AM
  • Policy schedule:
    Run according to schedule and run according to rules for this template
    Start no earlier than 12:00:00 AM and no later than 5:59:59 AM
    Make the schedule go into effect on 1/20/2011

    Schedule backup to run
    On Sunday of the second week
    On Sunday of the third week
    On Sunday of the fourth week
    On Sunday of the last week
    Submit job on hold: No
I don't know why but job always failed with error:
e000e020 - The job was scheduled to run, but the availability window closed before the job could start. There may not have been any destination devices available during the window, or the job may have been submitted to run when the window was closed.

In job history I've found:

Original start time : Sunday, June 12, 2011 1:30:00 AM
Job started         : Sunday, June 12, 2011 12:30:00 AM

Why BackupExec scheduler thinks that job should start about 1:30 AM?

 Before end of week I tried recreate job but this didn't help. Daily Incremetnal Job has very similar configuration and works ok:(

Do you see any active alerts in the alerts tab waiting for your response?

May be the job was waiting for an idle tape device or an overwritable media.

I only see this alert:

The job could not run within the time period that is specified in the job's schedule time window. The time window does not allow the job to start later than 6:59:00 AM.

To change the time window, edit the schedule details for the job.

Alert received at 6/12/2011 12:30:00 AM.

Why BE set orginal time to: 1:30:00 AM? I've check all policies, selection lists and didn't find this time (1:30:00AM).

Your selection list availability is from 12.30 a.m. to 5.59 a.m. whereas your job's time window is from 12 a.m. to 5.59 a.m.  Why is this so?  If your job try to start at 12.10 a.m., your selection list would still not be available.

1) do not restrict your selection list if you can help it.

2) if your job can start as soon as the job defined by the previous template is finished, then you should just use schedule according to the rules of this template and forget about the time window.

At 12.00 a.m. BE client start av scan and run performance script. Backup jobs should start about 12:30 am. Selection list availability is ok, but I still don't know why orginal start time is set to 1:30 AM:
