I am getting this error when trying to run a backup job.
Final error: 0xe00084f9 - A communications failure has occurred between the Backup Exec job engine and the Agent for Windows.
Final error category: Resource Errors

What version of Backup Exec is this?
are you backing up to disk or tape?
run all the available live updates and push them out to the remote servers.

Is there any event id 1000 logged on the media server relating to a BE process crash ?

The version is Backup Exec 2014 version 14.1 Rev.1786 (64-bit). We are backing up to disk, specifically a SAN. I checked the link provided and it does not apply since we aren't backing up to tape. The above error was for a job where I had VMs grouped and was attempting to use the hotadd feature to back them up. I will look at the event log for any 1000 ids and report back.
