Backup of QNAP NAS data intermittent failure

Hi,

I have a QNAP NAS that Backup Exec 15 has a lot of trouble backing up. When I try to backup data that is on a QNAP NAS it often fails saying "0x17 - Data error (cyclic redundancy check)". I can usually get it working again by restarting the server, or the QNAP, or browsing the backup selection, but I shouldn't have to do that.

Any idea on how I can have consistent backups?

It might be that you have hardware errors on your QNAP device.  If there is any diagnostics program from the vendor, run it against the hardware.

Also, do a chkdsk on your disk in the QNAP device.
