Backup of a EMC CIFS storage by sharename

Hello everybody.

Is it possible to backup CIFS shares on a EMC NS40 or NS500 SAN device without NDMP option ? I mean to connect to \\server\sharename and backup the folders. I tried with a privileged domain account but I couldnt (BE 12.5 SP2).

Anybody knows a way to do that ?

Yes for one you will need a BackuP Exec Remote Agent license installed on the media server (required).  This is just to allow remote backups.

NDMP service must be off on the EMC if its running anytype of NDMP service.
