Have you tried another tape ?

Is the firmware of your tape device updated to the latested version ?

What kind of brand is it, some suppliers have tools to check status.

How is it connected ?

Run the HP LT&T utility against the tape library/drive.  Make sure you select the write test and that you have stopped all the BE services beforehand.

If you are running the HP Insight software. Uninstall it.

...you're wanting to do the compression test with HP LTT...this will show whether or not you're getting compression.

Thanks!

What is the error code it is failing with and what do the logs say? Would you be able to paste the logs details here.

Hello Thahir,

looks like you're running int a known bug with SCSI. Look at this KB: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH163202
