Backup without GRT

I have VmWare 5.1 and  SBE 2010R3SP3

I create backup job virtual server without GRT.

If create job with installed agent in server then backup job has finished successfuly( create snapshot nameserver-vmdk file ).

WHY    if create job without installed agent in server then backup job has finished successfuly BUT (Create snapshot nameserver-000002.vmdk file) ????

You can go for upgrading Backup exec 2012 and update with latest service packs which will support VmWare 5.1

The Backup Exec 2012 revision 1798 Service Pack 2 suport VmWare 5.1

After upgrading don't fail to push agent on remote server with the help Backup exec remote agent utility.

the snapshots should not be left on the VM if the job has finished as such if the screenshots were taken with no active job then you have a stuck snapshot which may need removing using the menus in the vsphere client

Hi,

Even Non-GRT backup of VM through ESX server or vCenter creates snapshot and then backup the VMs. If the snapshos are not automatically being deleted you could allow the Backup Exec many times to request the vStorage API interface to initiate the snapshot removal process.

Please update status of the issue.
