BackupExec 10d to 12.5 re-install, what files to save?

Ok, so I really do not feel it is necessary to save media sets and all that jazz. I am in a new environment that needs updated drastically and do not need So if I want to save two of my most recent backups what all do I need to do to keep two tapes recoverable?

Just select the two tapes you need - put them into the 12.5 server and run Inventory followed by Catalog jobs.

One thing I would suggest is make sure those two recent backups on your 10D start by overwriting the tape - this will ensure you actually start a new family for each tape and means you should not run into any issues with media missing from an extended family that are sometimes seen.

Ok, so I read a KB (http://support.veritas.com/docs/321261), and it seems easy enough.

I can copy any recent catalogs that I'd like and as long as I run an inventory before I try to update and import my catalogs it will be able to match up the media from the catalogs...
