BackupExec 12.5 and Powervault 122T

I have BackupExec 12.5 backing up to disk daily, but want to have a weekly to tape.

My Powervault 122T is recognised by the server under Devices and is seen by BackupExec.

I can see the 8 slots and the unrecognized media within.

I can Initialize and enable/ disable the drive but anything else gets queued saying 'Ready; No idle devices are available'.

It stays like that without changing.

Any ideas on what I'm missing ?

Hi,

Check if the tapedrive en the robotic library are seen as one device.
Not as a standalone tapedevice and a robotic library.
If the are reported as a standalone tapedvice an library start the device wizzard (under tools) to correct this setting. Then check the service "removable storage service" that is has stopped and disabled.
If they are seen as one device, check that the service "removable storage service" is disabled and stopped.
If this service must be running for other applications than disable the robotic library under removable storage (computer management).
