BackupExec 12.5 problem with HP changer

Roethel
Not applicable

Hi,

BackupExec 12.5 doesn´t recognize a HP SureStore DAT 40x6 Autoloader C5715 as a changer, but only as a streamer.

HP tools and Windows2003 server do recognize the changer.

Any ideas how to get the changer to work in BE 12.5 ?

Thanks

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Best to check the BE 12.5 Hardware Compatibility List. If it isn't listed there, chances aren't good it will work.

Things to try in the meantime:

1. Make sure that RSM service is stopped and disabled.

2. Download the latest BE 12.5 drivers, and make sure that you have installed the Symantec drivers (run the Device Configuration Wizard again)

3. HCL: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/306831.htm

It would appear that it is not supported.  I don't see it in the HCL.

Unsupported.  It is listed as being End-of-Lifed in the 12.0 HCL.

But you probably can still get it to work.  A common problem was making sure youre SCSI HBA was configured to support multiple LUN devices, but it sounds like you might have already done that, assuming Windows can see the changer and the drive in device manager.

Start troubleshooting with this
