Hi we repeatedly get the following error (Communications are down with backup exec services )mostly in first thing in the morning when I login to check status of backup, I then just click 'Ok' and it starts running again, we also intermittently get the this error too ' the connection to the back exec database has been lost '..
The backups do run although they're now spanning across two tapes! but these annoying errors persist almost daily, I've changed the logon accounts for BE services to use 'Local system account'.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please check windows event viewer for any service crash related or sql instance related errors?

Thanks for the reply the only thing I could find relating and around the same time was;
Event ID 33808
An error occurred while processing a B2D command.
spnRequest: Initialize() CreateFileMapping failed (SPN_DeviceMemory). Error=5

Please check Backup Exec Service account. If they are running on Local System account, please change it to a Domain account which has required privileges.
