BackupExec 9.1 via IP Address

Hello, I want to create a backup network with backup exec 9.1. What I want to do,
is put a 3rd network card in my servers on a different ip subnet and only have the NIC get use for the backup server to acess the data on each particular server.
I want to install gigabit nic's and then have the backup exec server and tape library also on a gigabit nic to back everything up, thus allowing no lag with my regular 10/100 network.
does anyone know if this is possible with backup exec 9.1 for windows???? I am running windows 2000 and 2003

Thanks

Paul

It is possible, you can do this from 2 places.

1. Tools, Options, Network - specify the NIC card to be used for backup.
2. In the backup job itself, you can specify the NIC to use for the backup.

You only need to specify this on the Backup Exec server and it will use it.

Hope this helps
