BackupExec2010 job rate suddenly slow

Hi , I recently started expieriancing slow tape backup jobs the job rate went from 320/400 mb to only 76/100mb. We are running backupexec2010 on a windows server 2008 box. No changes have been made to the system i have tried disabling and re-enabling the tape drive ,Making the job priority highest have no ideas left anyone who has encountered this before please help also the event viewer logs show nothing Thanks

First isolate the issue, check if you are facing the issue with any particular server or with

all the servers. If you are facing performance issue with the remote server try to copy some

data across the network and check the results.

Basic Troubleshooting

1)  Run live update and install all the latest hotfixes

2) update the device drivers by running tapeinst.exe

3) perform powercycle of the tape device and the media server.

Thanks for the quick reply the real issue was that after upgrading firmware on the switches the ethernet connections started running slowly rebooting all the servers solved this issue
