Hi,
I want to do backup with new tapes but I can´t. The error is 0xe00084ec - A backup storage read/write error has occurred. If I use the old tapes I don´t have any problems.
What can I do?
Thank you,
Elena

One other possibility could be a problem with the new tapes itself. Consider running a long erase and diagnostics against them using vendor tools.

...are the tapes supported on the drive? And you're not using a higher LTO tape (say LTO5) on an LTO4 drive?
Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you for all answers.
I have Backup Exec 2012 sp4. If I do backup with old tape I don´t have any problem. All tapes are labeled and they are ULTRIUM LTO 3. We have tested with 2 new tapes, we did long erase but we have the same problem.
Thanks,
Elena

Consider running vendor diagnostics against the new tapes and are there any hardware related events in the event viewer (specifically system logs) ?

When we do backup with new tapes, we see in the event viewer 2 errors:
El dispositivo de almacenamiento "HP 3" ha encontrado un error en la petici≤n a escribir datos en el soporte.
Error encontrado:
0x17.
2. with ID 33152:

Yes, the new tapes are LTO3.
