Is is possible to put the backup exec media server in a domain and backup non-domain servers?  We have a new media and want to put it in a domain and needs to backup servers not in a domain.

Yes, you can backup remote servers not in the same domain, Obviously, there are always configuration issues as far as networking, ports, firewalls, authentication, etc., that need to be addressed, but it can and is done on a regular basis.
