Backupstrategie wie umsetzen?

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe eine Vorgabe zur Umsetzung einer Backupstrategie bekommen - wie stelle ich das am cleversten an?

Täglich inkrementelle Sicherung auf B2D Speicher

Wöchentlich Fullbackup auf B2D mit Kopie auf Tape

Monatlich Fullbackup (vorzugsweise das letzte vom B2D Speicher) auf Tape (Tape soll Off-Site gelagert werden) (Januar bis Dezember sollen im Schließfach verbleiben)

Jährlich Fullbackup am Ende des Jahres auf Band

Welche MediaSets müssen angelegt werden?

Welche MediaVault muss angelegt werden?

Aufbewahrungszeiten? Überschreibschutz?

Über Hilfe wäre ich dankbar.

Since you are using BE 2012, your disk storage will be managed by DLM and no media sets are required.  You can set the retention period of the backup in your jobs, in the same section as when you specify the target disk storage.  Nobody can tell you how to set the retention period.  Only you know how long each backup set should be kept and how many backup sets that you can keep depends on the space on your disk storage.  Do read these to understand how DLM works and how it affects the retention of your backup sets.

For tapes, again nobody can tell you how long to set your OPP and AP.  It all depends on how many tapes you have and how fast you want to recycle them.  Only you know that.  You can create as many media sets as you want to set your OPP and AP.

Wichtig ist nur, dass die komplette Backup-Job-Planung in einer Stufe stattfindet. BE2012 lässt dann nur den Job mit der niedrigsten Wiederholungsrate zu.

Beispiel:

Voll-Bu jeden Freitag um 20:00 Uhr

Voll-Bu-Monat jeden letzten Freitag im Monat um 20:00 Uhr

Voll-Bu-Jahr jeden letzten Freitag im Jahr um 20:00 Uhr

hier würden ja einmal im Jahr theoretisch alle 3 Jobs laufen müssen, aber BE entscheidet sich für den Jahres-Job, der er die niedrigste Wiederholungsrate hat.

What you are experiencing is expected.  BE 2012 is designed to superceed jobs if their start times are the same.  The job with the lowest frequency will superceed the other jobs.  If you want all 3 jobs to run, then stagger the start time, e.g.

Weekly job - 2000 hr

Monthly job - 2001 hr

Yearly job - 2002 hr

then all 3 jobs will start.
