Bare metal restore failure

Trouble restoring from an HP ML350 G8, to a HP DL380 G7 using a bootable .iso and 2 tapes.2015 sp4 is the veritas version

The first tape restores fine, the 2nd tape, as soon as inserted, then an error is displayed mentioning an inconsistency on the tape.

This error happens with any backup tape set

Can you restore from multiple tapes, or does Veritas not handle multiple tapes for a bare metal restore.

Also - the issue seems to be related only to the restore of the disk storage partition.

If i restore only the c: drive and system state (the system state is stored on the 2nd tape), it can read the tape with no problem.

However windows is unbootable, after the system state is restored. has anyone ever had a restore to dissimilar hardware work?
