Nothing much we have to just run the setup.exe

Double click on the SAP32 folder if the 32-bit version of the Backup Exec for Windows Agent for SAP Applications.
Select the SAP64 folder if the 64-bit version.
Double click on setup.exe.
Ensure that SAP agent is installed in the same path where BRTOOLS exist on the SAP server.

you need not to change anything if it already exist. Just run the installation and upgrade the agent.

I would opt for doing a push installation rather. In your selection list, right-click the server in question, and choose: Install Remote Agent/Advanced Open File Option...
this will ensure your updates are installed via the media server, along with AOFO and RAWS. this is pretty bullet proof.

Refer the following Document  http://support.veritas.com/docs/307346
No major change W.R.T to installation of the Sap agent it works the same as it works in Version 12 and 12.5

You can download the agent from the Symantec 2010 trailware site
Select Backup Exec for Windows Servers in the Trialware section of this page, then choose the Linux/Unix/Macintosh Agents package for download.  This package also includes the SAP agent.

FYI http://support.veritas.com/docs/300089 Migrating the SAP Agent catalog from _backint.mdb to _backint.xml

We dont have _backint.mdb file. What to do?

We have searched all drives for this file. But no luck.

How we can proceed for Upgrade?

You dont need to worry about it as you would find the _backint.mdb in older version of baclkup exec ...

Thanks for your input.

We ran installation from the Setup.exe

It completed successfully.

Now the backup Exec Agent version in the host is 13.0.

But if we will select server from backup Exec console, it is still showing 12.5.

We ran backup. It got completed with below exception.

The target computer is running a previous version of the Backup Exec Remote Agent. You must upgrade the Remote Agent.

Where we are going wrong?

Open the remote agent utility on the remote server in the publishing tab make sure it publishing to the correct server .... Restart your remote agent service and services on the media server as well

Push install the remote agent on the Sap server again and then try running the backup again

...as I mentioned above, a push install would be the best way to get your remote agents upgraed. Any patches applied to your media server, will then be applied through the RAWS agent upgrade.

I forgot to mention that, at the 1st time we already upgraded Agent with Remote Push method, as you said. It completed successfully. Lateron we checked for version on both Media Server and Remote Host. It was still 12.5.

i.e. this option is also not working.

What version is your media server ? Is you mention the remote agent on the media server is 12.5 , have you upgraded your media server to 2010 ?

Hi Ashish,

OK...try it again. If it is really installed, it would inform you that the installation would not continue.
If this IS the case, I'd uninstall the agent, and then push-install again.
Obviously with it being an SAP server, you won't get downtime very readily...

Thank you sazz, AmolZeroCool, CraigV, RahulG for your great support. SAP and Windows agent is upgraded successfully. The backup is getting completed successfully now.

I think we have to follow below steps (Which we have followed and worked):

1) Copy SAP Agent Directory to Remote SAP Server
2) Run the Installation with Setup.exe
3) Copy Windows Remote Agent to Remote SAP Server
4) Run the setupaa.cmd
5) Run SetupAOFO.cmd as well for enabeling AOFO

Thats it.
