Best Practice form backing up Backup Exec 15 Server

windows-it
Level 3

HI,

We are newly running a Backup Exec 15 Server on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Server. We are backing up the Backup Exec Server with all its components onto Tape (Encrypted). What is the best practice to ensure I can restore the Backup Exec Server in case of fire in the datacenter?

I can't find a good source how on how to do that.

Thanks for any help.

Manuel

If you want to use SDR to recover your media server, you might want to test a recovery. I am not sure whether you can use an encrypted tape for this purpose. For manual recovery, make sure you have the passphrase which is used to encrypt the tape handy. Without it, you would not be able to read the tape
