CIFS Storage Devices

I have tried to use a mapped network drive to the free storage space. I think Backup Exec will not let me use this area as a place to store B2D.

How do I use a CIFS Storage as a place to load backups to? Can I use a ISCSI Iniator instead?

I was able to get a UNC Path to work but the mapped drive will not.

That is because when you logoff, you looze the mapping and an UNC path is always working.

BE runs as a batch job and mapped drives are associated with an on-line session.  As you have discovered, you need to use UNC paths.

Although instead of UNC paths, you can use a LUN presented over iSCSI instead of a CIFS share - you might sometimes see a minor issue after a server reboot if the Backup Exec services start before the iSCSI ones which will cause your device to be offline until you restart the Backup Exec services.
