I have problem with Oracle DB backup.

During backup job system changed IP address of media server and job ended with CORBA exception.

I don't use IPv6 and access on port 5633 between media server and Oracle server is open.

In logs I found that IP address is changed during job execution.

...have you put that server's IP address into the hosts file?

Thanks!

Yes, I put address IP into host file's at media server and Oracle server. Windows backup jobs works fine there is only problem with Oracle DB backup.

Using nslookup, which IP address does the media server name resolve to ?

And which names do the above mentioned IP addresses resolve to ?

Under Backup Exec Settings - Oracle, have you added the FQDN of the Oracle server ? If not pls do so and ensure the Oracle server is listed in the Backup & Restore in the same format i.e. FQDN.

Under Backup Exec settings I put NetBios name , the what in hosts file and in server windows. Strange thing is that I configured 12 same locations and in 8 everything is allright but in 4 I have Corba exeption.

Oracle server is standalone (workgroup member) virtual machine so i cannot use FQDN.

From Oracle server I can telnet to media server on port 5633.
