Can 10.0 be installed on a remote computer & use remote's tape drive ?

We use 10.0 on our network. I have a remote computer that has an old Seagate Travan tape drive (STT20000A). Can I install 10.0 on the remote and still use the old tape drive ? Also, would this allow me to use 40GB tapes rather than the 20GB that I am now using ?

Hi,

I see no issues, (STT20000A) drive is supported with BEWS 10.0

You can go ahead with installation of BEWS 10.0 on the remote server which has a old tape drive.

As long as drive supports the 40gb tapes no issues with Backup Exec.

That drive is a 10/20 drive. Doesn't matter what software you use, you will be limited to 10GB native capacity
