Hello,
Can BE 2010 backup our virtual servers in on our ESX server on to tape, I know it can to disk? We need to then restore offsite at our DR site.
Thanks

Hi
You can certainly install BE 2010 on virtual disk but for BE to see the tape , you should ensure that , that virtual machine device manager is showing tape device connected if that is the case BE should be able to see tape device & you would be able to use it
If this helps please mark this as solved
Thank You

IF BE can backup to disk, it will back up to tape. This means you're using the AVVI agent and connecting to the Virtual Center server.
You're able to do the GRT backups to tape as you can to disk.
On your DR site, all you'd do is intentory and catalog the tapes, and then restore through the Virtual Center server.

The user is asking whether he can backup a VM to tape. He is not asking whether you can install BE in a VM and see a tape drive.
