Can I safely delete the contents of the 'Downloads' folder?

Can I safely delete the contents of the 'downloads' directory located under C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads\?

I assume this folder is utilized when carrying out a LiveUpdate. If the LiveUpdate(s) were successful, could I delete the contents of the folder?
