Can a 10.x Remote Agent be forced to a box with 8.6 SERVER on it?

My old backup server ran B.E. 8.6 and had a remote accelerator agent too. My new backup server is running B.E. 10.d but I want to have a current agent on the old box to backup another application that is there. B.E. 8.6 server is still installed, for historical reference purposes, and will be for weeks.
The 10.1 Remote Agent doesn't want to install on the old server that still has 8.6 - can I force it to do so?

Hello,

No the 8.6 agent will not work with 10.1. It cannot be installed. You will need to purchase the 10.1 agent only. Refer to the SCL for more information:
