One of my staff is missing a file that seems to have been mysteriously deleted. I usually keep a good backup off-site for awhile in case something were to happen (ie: fire, natural disaster). So, I have a backup that is around a year old (guesstimate). As the catalogue of this tape is no longer on the system, I set up a job to catalogue it so that I could see if the file was on the tape and then restore it. The first try seemed to pull a bit of the tape itself out of the case, so I wound it back and tried again. It goes for about 30 seconds (loading media) and shows that the label is Friday Full Backup 1. Then a message pops up and tells me to insert Friday Full Backup 4. I've done that and then it just catalogues the second tape which is not the one I need. There have been many changes to the jobs on the server in the last while so I realize it doesn't have a catalogue for this tape. How do I get it to catalogue the tape I need?
