Can't install Agents

Hi,

I upgrade from 9.1 to 10. Installed all hotfixes like BE SP1.

Then I wanted to update the agents, but it fails to do so.
On the console under Tools I use the "Install Remote Agents" option.

I add a server (done this many time under 9.1 with out problems).

The remote installer tries to push the file, but fails with "The system cannot find the path specified"

I even tried to copy to copy the \rant32 folder to the target server. Started the cmd file to setup. It runs for a while and ends without any errors.
The drivers are not installed. Cant find them in msinfo32 nor is anything else to find.


HELP!

PS: Can it be, that the agent that came with v10 is no good (downloaded the trial version, but use my new license codes)?

This error can happen if the NDMP TCP/IP port 10000 is already in use. FIrst of all go to services.msc and check out if the "Remote agent" service have been installed or not? If its not then perform these steps.




1. Open a command prompt

2. Type netstat -a, this will give the compelte list of ports being used by applications. Check for port 10000 , If its in use then this could be the cause because remote agent needs this port to be free.





Perform one of the following :
You have two options to choose from
1. Either Remove/change 3rd party application to free up port 10000

OR

2. Change NDMP to use a different port.

Incase the port is not in USE by any other application then, Try silent install.
