Hi there,
The server should be discovered automatically. Are you able to reach the Hyper-V server from the BE server?
Have you tried installing the BE client manually?

Any firewall between the backup server and Hyper-V host server?

All firewalls are turned off

I did try copying the RAWS64 file to the client and instaling the agent from the client itself, but still no discoverability on the server

Please try to telnet port 10000 of Backup Exec server from hyper-v server.
but still no discoverability on the server<--What is the error?

I am experiencing the same error message when attempting to update the Guest Virtual Machines from the Host on the Server console. Firewall ports required for BE are open and Port 10000 is established. Has there been a solution determined other than the two articles provided for DAG and VMWare? I can run backup jobs with no issues.
