Hello.

I use Backup Exec 2014.

I have 2 servers as Backup Server.

And so I installed Backup Exec 2014 with "Central Admin Server Option" on Backup Server #1.

After that, I install Backup Exec 2014 with "Managed Backup Exec server" on Backup Server #2.

But, when I install Backup Exec 2014 on Backup Server #2, the following error is show.

BE-ManagedMediaServerError2.jpg

Information

Backup Server #2 can execute "ping" command to Backup Server #1 with IP Address normally. And also "ping" command with Computer Name is normally.

Of course, Backup Server #1 can execute "ping" command to Backup Server #2.

And "nslookup" command is normally on each servers.

What is problem ? Is there the step for fixing this problem.

Hi Takaratta,

VJWare is correct, you need to patch your Backup Exec 2014 first to SP1.

You can check below TN on how to install and configure CASO Central Admin Server

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO23024

Also, you can install a new Backup Exec server. Once installed, you can change a stand alone backup exec server to a manage backup exec server. Please read below TN on how to do this procedure.

Is BE 2014 updated with SP1 ? If not, would recommend to patch it before installing the MMS option.

Do open ports between the 2 media servers per this KB - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO23022
