Hi,
Backupserver: Windows Server 2003R2 with BE 12.0 SP3
We are backuping an Exchange Server 2007 with Backup 2 Tape using GRT on a Windows Server 2008 -64Bit.
Everything worked fine all the time but overnight we got an error:
"\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group - Access Denied. Cannot backup directory Mailbox Database and its subdirectories. "
The general access shouldn't be the problem, cause the size of the backup is almost the same. But we aren't abled to see or restore the several mailboxes.
Afaik nothing changed in our network before the error occurs.
I've tried several test-backups:
The job using B2D runs successfull without errors, the same when we do the job 2Tape without GRT.
So it seems to be a combination of GRT and B2Tape
Can somebody help?

This is best practise to upgrade the BE to latest patches and HF first.
Have you changed anything in the logon account. Make sure the account that you are using to backup exchange should have 5 rights,
account should be unique, unhidden from GAL, domain admin, exchange organization administrator and active mailbox.
Also if exchange 2007 on ws 2008 then make sure you do the step 2 and 3 as per the below document
