Cannot connect to Virtual machine (Hyper V)- Backup Exec 2010 R2

I have two backup jobs to backup both Physical host and Virtual machines on two physical servers however whilst the job completes (with exceptions) and does backup the virtual disk, the GRT fails to connect to the virtual machine with the following

V-79-57344-38726 - Backup Exec failed to connect to virtual machine 'OHS-VM-FS02' and was unable to ...

I have both Hyper V and remote agents on Physical and virtual servers. and have un-installed/re-installed Remote agents and install hatfixs and SP1.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Check that the necessary ports are open on your firewall if you run 1 on your servers.

If you don't run a firewall, there are 2 other things you can try:

1. Ensure the RAWS agent on each VM is publishing to your media server correctly.

2. Uninstall the Hyper-V license on your media server, and then reinstall it.

Many thanks, turned out I had select to backup AD componenets and this cause the issue. Resolved
