Hi,
my customer has NetWare 6.5 with the latest Backup Exec installed. He is trying to use the IBM DDS/4 tape library (it is detected as "ARCHIVE Python 06241-XXX" in the Backup Exec). The library has a single tape drive and a robot with 6 tape slots carousel. The tape drive and the robot share the same SCSI-ID and are identified by the different LUNs.
It seems, that this robot is not listed in the "Backup Exec 9.x for NetWare Servers Libraries Hardware Compatibility List" (see http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/271381.htm). However, it is listed on the libraries compatibility lists for Backup Exec for Windows servers (both version 9 and 10).
Both the tape drive and the robot are wisible in the NetWare and in the Backup Exec, just the robot is marked "Disabled" in the Backup Exec.
The problem is, that when the customer is trying to enable the robot for Backup Exec (on the BE Administration console "Drives - Robots - - Configuration"), the item "Enable robot for Backup Exec" couldn't be selected. Similarly, in the Windows-based BE Administration Console, when he selects the robot and presses Ctrl-E for enabling it, the robot stays in the "Disabled" state.
Is there any chance to get this robot working there?
TIA
