...if there is an antivirus installed on the remote server, stop and disable it and try again.

Otherwise try a manual installation:

Thanks!

Is the NIC cards up to date?

It should be at least 7.8.50.0 (D) or later.

Can you post the install log ? Thanks.

Does a local install of RAWS complete successfully ?

Not the job log. The install logs which are located at %ProgramData%\Symantec\Backup Exec\Logs

There would be a Bkupinst2014.htm & a RAWSinst2014.htm log.

Based upon the above log, pls ensure the following:

1) WMI service is started and set to Automatic.

2) Enable remote WMI requests using these steps:

On the target server, go to Administrative Tools > Computer management.
Expand 'Services and Applications',
Right Click for Properties on 'WMI Control'.
Select the Security tab.
Click on Security button.
Add the account that is used during the installation of the Backup Exec Remote agent for Windows Systems.
Check Remote Enable for the user/group that will be requesting WMI data.

3) Grant DCOM rights per this KB - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa393266%28VS.85%29.aspx

Retry push install then.

Did you enable WMI and DCOM and assign permissions as mentioned in the above KBs ?

If yes, this log file still points to WMI access denied. Perhaps, you could try a local install of the remote agent instead.

WMI was already started. i just added the tteam acct to it. the DCOM config was set up already.. i might as well just try the manual install.

the agent was previously installed earlier. i just wanted to update it because my backup kept failing with end of file error reached

If the agent is already installed, then try this KB for applying just the updates - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH70657
