Cannot restore-media not cataloged-no backups in catalog? HELP!

Hi all,

I'm running server 2003 with backup exec 2010 v13. backing up to USB RD1000 Drive (160gb cartridges).

First, I run daily full backups-1 day per cartridge on weekly rotation.

I'm attempting to restore some files but am receiving errors.  When launching the restore job, i got the message I've got to catalog media first.

So i attempted that but got another error message.

The job completed successfully.  However, the following conditions were encountered:

Warning: No backup sets were found on this media.

Now originally i could only see select days to restore from but now the day i need shows but there is no data to select for restore. This is a major issue so first I'm looking for help on what i can do to get the data from this backup to restore THEN i need to find out how to get all my backup days to show in there. obviously i'm not understanding something about cataloging.

Thank you very much in advance.

As you are using 1 media/daily full backup, are you sure that you have selected the correct media for restore operation?

As per some tech notes the warning mentioned by you will be thrown by BE, if catalog operation performed on an empty media.

Try the restore operation on any other media to isolate the issue.
