Catalog Operation Duration

How long should a catalog operation take on a Dell Powervault TL2000?  I'm currently at two hours and since the job activity window gives you no indication of progress, I have no idea what is going on or if the catalog operation is actually running or hung/stuck.

check to make sure any alerts are responded to. Also in the Job status under the storage tab you can chec what the status is.

Depending upon how much data is on the tape, the catalog operation can take hours.  Unfortunately, catalog operations do not give status updates, so you will be never know how long it will take until it is done, or you have built up some experience with your system and your data such that you can guess a little.
