Sumpan
Level 2

We have exchange 2013 and backupexec 2014

When running catalg for GRT we get following error on two of our six databases.

V-79-57344-957 - One or more messages were skipped because of a failure to enumerate the messages in the EDB file. Review the job log for more information.

No more information is provided so has someone any ideas?

Is Backup Exec 2014 patched with the latest service pack? Service Pack 2 can be obtained from http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH225093 Please update Backup Exec Server and the Remote Server/Servers in question with the latest patches and check. The Service Pack includes update for Exchange 2013 CU6.

The SCL of BE2014 also lists CUy as supported:

We have Backup Exec 2014 sp1 and Exchange 2013 CU6.

We will upgrade to sp2 soon.Still strange that 4 out of 6 databases works.

More info

Final error: 0xe00003bd - One or more messages were skipped because of a failure to enumerate the messages in the EDB file. Review the job log for more information. Final error category: Resource Errors

Hi.

We also have this problem, and have had it a long time.

Yesterday we updated our BE 2014 to SP2 and our Exchange 2013 to CU7.

I hoped this would fix the problem, but we still get the following:

Job ended: 13. marts 2015 at 00:54:05 Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe00003bd - One or more messages were skipped because of a failure to enumerate the messages in the EDB file. Review the job log for more information. Final error category: Resource Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-957

If there is any way in which I can be of assistance in solving this problem, please let me know.

Regards

We have the same issue at a customer's site. They have 2 out of 6 databases that are getting this message during Catalog operation of and GRT enabled Exchange backup (backup task is completed succesfully however, only the Catalog job fails). We are using a locally attached FC storage array as a storage destination, and we are only running full backups. We are running Backup Exec 2014 build 1786 and Exchange 2010 latest CU.

So far we have tried to move the backup to a different partition and even to a different disk array, recreate catalogs, run catalog as a different and delayed job, without any success.

In the detailed job log, we can see that the error occurs randomly in different message(s) of the EDB file everyday, sometimes there are several messages with errors, some days only one.

I hope Symantec comes up with a fix for this error.

We have the same issue, with Exchange 2010 and Backup Exec 2014 though. Both products with latest patches.
