Hello Eduardo,

I have a TS 3100 Library, I would like to use it do backup the datas from AS 400 using a Backup Exec.

to perform a backup, you must create a user as400 and the same user with the same password in SBE. Run the job on behalf of this member.

Ev, but do you use any agent ? How BE find the AS400 ?
05-13-2013 12:15 AM
We do not use any agents for SBE to connect AS400.
I created selection list and selected View Selection Details and filled field path as: \\as400\backup\
Job ended with Exceptions:
Backup- as400V-79-57344-3844 - The media server was unable to connect to the Remote Agent on machine as400.
The media server will use the local agent to try to complete the operation.
V-79-57344-65277 - AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\as400\backup". Advanced Open File Option used...
Remote Agent not detected on as400.

Most every shop I've been too that uses iSeries/AS400 uses native backup commands to back itself up. BRMS, etc...
They backup to tape directly, DataDomain VTL, or Protectier.
BackupExec and AS400 shouldn't be in the same sentance. It will NEVER be supported by IBM.
