Hi!
We are using our Domain Admin Account to start Backup Exec 2010 Services. Many times when we open Backup Exec Console it shows that communication with Backup Exec Server is down then we have to either start it manually or by restarting the server. What can be the solution to avoid this problem. Should we use Local System Account to start all the services?
Thanks!

Except Remote Agent service all other services needs to configured with Domain Admin account.
Check the event viewer for any error messages related to services.

In the Event viewer also check the events which occur just before the Backup Exec service is stopped. This will give us the idea if there is any other process which is stopping the Backup Exec service.
You can also observe the timing at which this service stops to see if it happens at the same time everyday so that we can find out which operations runs at that time.
Thanks,

141686 Update is failing.
"A program that was a part of this update failed when it ran. This update was not applied".
This is the message when i ran the update manually and then the Server Stopped.
Thanks.

If the server is Win 2008 then you need to disable UAC before running Live Update.

Could you just confirm the exact version of BE 2010 you are using?? To find that go to Help>>About in Backup Exec console.
The 141686 update is for BE 2010 ver 2896.... may be you are using BE 2010 ver 4164.
You can also refer to the followng technotes
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127040 : Install of a Backup Exec Hotfix or Service Pack with LiveUpdate or a manual install fails and the SQL Instance Service cannot be restarted when running under the Local System Account
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH142671 : LiveUpdate fails with error LU1812: A program that was part of this update failed when it ran. This update was not applied
If its a Windows 2008 server then disable UAC and then try the installation.
Thanks,

I also have the below error in eventvwr:
