Comparision BACKUPEXEC V Ray & VEEAM

Hi,

Can anybody share comparision between backup exec & veeam and what best we can do on the pricing also.

Customer Server Architecture:

  • No. Of Physical Server’s: 2
  • No. of CPU on each Server: 2 (Total 4 CPU)
  • Virtual Architecture: Hyper-V Failover Cluster
  • Storage: Dell SAN
  • Storage Connectivity: SAS Cable
  • No. of Virtual Servers: 6 to 7 ( 3 to 4 on each Server)
    • File Server: 1 ( 500 Gb Data)
    • LIVE App Server with MY SQL: 1 (100 Gb)
    • Live MS SQL: 1 (100 Gb)
    • Testing Server’s: 3 (300GB with MS SQL and My SQL)
  • Backup Server configured on virtual machine (Existing File Server)
  • Backup Storage: NAS box through Ethernet

Veeam does:

* Instant Recovery - start up a VM from a backup file and move to the hypervisor. So recovery in minutes.

* all the functionality comes when you license it...

However, this is true when comparing Veeam to ARcserve and anything else in the market.
